Our pharma client needed a scalable system that would easily adapt to their new markets.

Clinigen Case Study News

    Our client is a leading pharma company that specializes in providing compliant solutions for healthcare professionals to source medicines. They offer a range of services, including clinical trial sourcing, clinical supplies management, managed access programs, and new medicine development.

    The challenge: Expanding services to the new market

    With the rapid growth of the pharmaceutical industry, new treatment options are being created. While that is a great opportunity for patients, it also represents a growing challenge for healthcare providers.

    Managing medical supplies can be daunting, preventing patients from getting the required therapy faster. That is exactly where innovative pharmatech solutions, such as those of our clients, step in.

    Primarily focused on sourcing pharmaceuticals from the UK, they have recently started expanding to new markets. They had several objectives along the way:

    • extending their existing system;
    • making sure all processes are compliant with regulatory requirements in different markets;
    • marketing automation for better customer experience;
    • creating an expansion scheme for future expansions.

    The team: Providing expertise to deliver results that last

    We formed a team that consisted of four members – two back-end engineers, one HubSpot integration/automation engineer, and one WebUI developer for email templates.

    In addition to implementing the technologies mentioned below, our team contributed to the overall success of the platform expansion. Boasting great domain knowledge, they proposed innovative platform growth solutions, improved their workflow management, and provided deep industry insights.

    The solution: Supporting the transition with Agile development

    To support the client's transition to an in-house development model while keeping their Agile delivery on track, we provided two developers who integrated into their team. The work focused on front-end development in React and back-end development in .NET Core (C#), with additional contributions to their Azure-based infrastructure.

    One challenge was developing new features in parallel with the existing system while adapting it for a new market. This required careful coordination to avoid disruptions. We also worked closely with their team to refine workflows and suggest improvements to their Agile approach.

    The project involved working across the full tech stack, including Azure SQL, Azure Search, Azure Data Factory (ETL), and an F#-based Backend for Frontend (BFF) service.

    Throughout the engagement, we collaborated with a globally distributed team, adapting to different work styles and aligning efforts to keep development moving forward.

    The results – creating a system with a high scalability potential

    Elegant back-end and front-end development solutions. Extensive experience in the pharmatech sector. Deep understanding and invaluable feedback regarding complying with legal requirements in their target markets. We delivered value to the client’s system expansion strategy on multiple levels.

    Meeting the strictest legal regulations

    Our extensive experience in the pharmatech sector helped us understand the client’s legal obligations. As a result, all compliance-related requirements were achieved. This resulted in significant time savings and better business outcomes.

    Integrating CRM for streamlined marketing tasks

    Streamlined marketing and sales processes – these factors are the pillars of the client’s system expansion strategy. To enable that, we focused on efficient HubSpot integration. That is how we enabled the client to deal with massive workflows and take customer experience to the next level.

    Developing the strategy for future expansions

    Expanding to new markets is just the first step in the client’s expansion plan. The client’s primary goal was to develop an expansion scheme that could be used as a pattern for future expansions to new markets. That is why it was of immense importance to start with improvements to the existing system.

    Driving 80% in customer retention

    Together with the client, we managed to drive exceptional results. According to recent analytics, the customer retention rate has skyrocketed, reaching an outstanding 80%. Additionally, the overall number of the platform’s online customers has been growing at an astonishing pace.
